PREPARES LESSON 6 and 7
http://bit.ly/1sWbFPW

We began the year putting together our Interactive Science Notebooks before we delved into the world of Science and the Scientific Method.

Save FRED!

We used the SM to save Fred (the gummy worm)  with paper clips? Oh, yeah... and no hands allowed! Take a look at some pictures to see how the groups did. BONUS! We had lots of laughs!

MISSION POSSIBLE WEB-QUEST

Ok, crew! Your training is now over. You have studied the solar system in your science class. You have completed training at NASA, and now you are an official NASA astronaut ready to launch into outer space. Your mission:  to discover fascinating information about our solar system. Find out all of this crucial information and more about the planets and report back to mission control in Houston with all of your discoveries.  We here on earth are all counting on you...enjoy your mission...ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one...........Blastoff!!!!!!

I CAN….

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the theories regarding the origin and evolution of the universe
  • Contrast characteristics of planets and stars
  • Develop an understanding of cycles influenced by energy from the sun and by Earth's position and motion in our solar system
  • discuss The relationship between the seasons and Earth's tilt is relative to the sun
  • explain The day/night cycle is caused by the rotation of the Earth every 24-hours

Now that you have chosen this mission, you need to visit Mrs. Tracy’s classroom blog at www.ctracy6.blogspot.com. Find the SCIENCE tab and click on it. Look for MISSION POSSIBLE and read the directions.
Next, read the questions and click on the given websites to find the answers. Write the answers in the given space. If you choose to attach a separate piece of paper to the WEB-QUEST, please staple them together. Remember NEATNESS COUNTS!
